Hair Cut

Anyone who has seen Christopher lately knows that he was in desperate need of a hair cut. Well, not anymore, I gave him a hair cut today. Yes, I did it by myself. Are you proud of me mom? I know it's not the best hair cut in the world but I think I did a pretty good job considering that I have never cut anyone's hair before. Also you have to take into consideration that Christopher is a squirming two year old that doesn't like hair cuts. It only took me about 45 minutes. Here is a picture of the result.

House Update

We now have a closet in our soon to be master bedroom. Well we have the frame of a closet at least. :)



Also here is our new washer and dryer. We had to order them and we weren't expecting them until the 3rd of February but to our surprise the came in yesterday. :)

House Update

I know it's been a long time since I've posted but I haven't really had anything exciting going on. So, here is a little house remodel update for you.

We've started on what will be our master bedroom. Here is a view from the doorway. I know it looks like a mess (and that's because it is) but we hope to have the room completed by the end of March.


This is the portion of the room that we are turning into a walk-in closet.


Here is a small update on the downstairs bathroom. We put in the new light fixture.

Bathroom Update

I finished painting the walls in our downstairs bathroom today. I actually did most of the work yesterday and only had a few touch-ups to do today. Overall I think the color looks pretty good. It's a little more yellow than I thought it was going to be but I think it matches the tile pretty well. Next up we have to buy and lay the tile.

Here is the paint colors we are using. The top color is the walls the bottom color will be the baseboards and the door trim.

Memoirs of a Geisha

My husband took me out to see Memoirs of a Geisha last night. I was very excited to see the movie because I have loved the book since I first read it when it came out. The movie was really good. They did an excellent job of getting the story right. Which can be a problem with some books they turn into movies. I think I probably would have enjoyed the movie more if I hadn't read the book. I'm not saying that the book it better, though. I just knew what was coming in the movie so it took any suspense out of the movie. Don't think your going to see a documentary on geisha. The movie has definitely been "Americanized" and a lot of the lengthy stuff about geisha training has been taken out. The movie long without it so I can't imagine how long it would be with it. All and all I really enjoyed it. It's definitely worth seeing in my opinion but I would recommend reading the book after you watch the movie.
