Spoils Coming Soon

I just got a note from my Spoil-A-Blogger 2.0 secret spoiler. Letting me know that my spoils are on there way and sent me a link to a quiz to take in meantime. Here are the results:

Sex and the City: The Four Women, the Four Elements
You scored 40% Miranda
You scored 30% Samantha
You scored 20% Charlotte
You scored 10% Carrie

You can take the quiz here: #

It's funny that I'm most like Miranda because the two characters I like the most are Samantha and Charlotte but I guess I'm not overly like any of them.

Baby Shower Invitation

I got Stephanie's baby shower invitations done.

stephbabyshoweroutside

Here is what the outside looks like. Inside is the all the information, which I'm not going to show because it has my home address. It's just date, time and place. The standard stuff. I was working on the thank you cards but I ran out of glue. :(

Busy, Busy

I have two events coming up next month that have been keeping me busy for the last week and will probably keep me busy for the next month. So if I don't post very often you'll know why.

First, my son is turning two years old next month and we are having a pool party for him on Saturday, September 17th. I can't believe he's almost two already. Where does the time go? We're keeping his party pretty simple. Blow-up pool for the kids, lunch, cake and presents.

Second, I'm hosting a baby shower for my friend, Stephanie, on Saturday, September 24th. She's pregnant with her third baby but she didn't get a baby shower for either of her first two so I figured it was about time.

I'm having both these events at my house, so I've been keeping busy planning. Both the events are an excuse for me to do craft stuff, which I love doing! I'm making the invitations and thank you cards for both events. I'm also making the favors for the baby shower. Of course there is also the games, decorations, and menu planning. There is a lot to do and I'm having these events a week apart. Am I crazy or what?

Ouch

So, I had this bump on my leg, that hurt and wasn't getting better. That being said, yesterday I went to the doctor to get it fixed and now all I have to say is, "ouch."

The doctor said it was probably fluid collection with a mild infection. He lanced it (which is just a fancy name for cutting it open,) drained it and put a wick in it to keep it open and drain for the next few days. I can take the wick out on Saturday and then it should heal up just fine. I'm also taking an antibiotic for the mild infection. They are doing a culture too, so as long as nothing new shows up on the culture, this will be it.

I think it hurts more now then it did but at least now it will get better. My darling son, Christopher, isn't helping. I think he's already kicked or sat on it about 4 times this morning. That's when it hurts the most. So now you know the reason, I am going to sit around and do almost nothing today. At least I have a good excuse.

Puppy Love

0816-10

Everyone say, "Hello" to our new dog. He doesn't have a name yet but we're working on it. We adopted him from the local animal shelter last Thursday but because he had to be fixed before we could bring him home, we did get him until Monday. He's a golden retriever and chocolate lab mix. He's about 6 months old, so he still acts a little like a puppy but he's a lot of fun. You can see the entire photo album here (Flickr) or here (Kodak Gallery.)

Washington County Fair

Today we went to the Washington County Fair. Christopher wasn't even one when we went last year so he wasn't able to ride any of the rides. This year, we took him on the carousel, twice.

0813-11

We also went to the petting zoo. He didn't really pay any attention to the animals until we got to the rabbits.

0813-04

He really liked the rabbits. Next year, he'll be able to go on more of the rides so it should be a little more entertaining. Still, it was fun to get out of the house and do something different. You can see all the pictures I took on Flickr or Kodak Gallery.

Apple

Christopher has been talking so well lately. It seems like everyday you can understand him a little better. Today, I fixed him a lunch of a corn dog and some apples. I sat the plate down in front of him and said, "Here is a corn dog and some apples." He promtly said, "Apple" and it sounds just like that, "Apple." He has been repeating words for a while, but this is probably the first time he's said a word, besides "bye," that sounded exactly like it was supposed to. It's amazing to me how quickly he is learning how to talk. My baby is growing up into a little boy.

FlyLady

Today, at the suggestion of my good friend, Kara, I joined FlyLady.net. One of my goals is to keep my house clean. I think this site will help me a lot if I can keep up on it. I think my biggest problem with getting things done is motivation and procrastination. I just need to get things done hopefully this will help me.

Chips & Salsa

On Friday night, we went out to eat at one of our favorite Mexican restaurant. Like most Mexican restaurant, they bring you chips and salsa before your meal. My husband and I are eating the chips and salsa and I give my son a chip. He takes the chip, dips it in the salsa and then eats it. The salsa isn't really spicy at all but I'm still expecting him to make a face and spit it out. Instead, he picks up another chip, dips it in the salsa and eats it. So my son, who's almost 2 years old, likes chips and salsa. Go figure! Of course he does come from a family that rather enjoys spicy Mexican food, so I guess he'll fit in quite well!
